We know parking can be tight at cool urban locations like Ivywild School, but we’re not going to let that keep us from having awesome events, are we? Of course not! Below are a few alternatives we’ve come up with for parking at the school.
First and Foremost:
Parking is discouraged in the neighborhoods that surround Ivywild School. Please respect the residents of Ivywild! This is their home…not a parking lot, dumping site, or otherwise. Please adhere to all parking signage.
Bike Option: PLEASE NOTE THERE WILL BE A SEPARATE BIKE ENTRANCE TO THE FEST.
Ride from home and park your bike at our free secure Bike Valet donated by UpaDowna.
Join the Mass Transit Bike Train.
Well-known Colorado Springs bike guru Allen Beauchamp will lead the Mass Transit Bike Train, a group bike ride from downtown to the Fest, on both days.
The Mass Transit Bike Train will depart from Acacia Park near the Uncle Wilber Fountain at scheduled times. Approximately 10 minutes after departing Acacia Park, the Bike Train will pass the parking garage at Bijou and Cascade (215 North Cascade Avenue), the parking lot at 1130 South Tejon Street, and Abra Auto Body. Riders are encouraged to park their cars and join the Bike Train at any of these points along the way!
Mass Transit Bike Train Scheduled Departures:
Friday, September 11: 5:00 pm
Saturday, September 12: 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, 5:00 pm
If you join the Bike Train:
Please arrive 15 mins prior to your time of departure
Wear a helmet
Bring front and rear lights for you and your bike (it will be dark when you leave)
No outside food or drink will be allowed into the Fest
Grab a cab or an Uber.
For first-time Uber users, use the code “uberFreewheelinFest” to get a discount!
Other taxi services in the Springs include Yellow Cab at 719-777-7777 and Springs Cab at 719-444-8989.
Parking Lot Option:
Simply park in one of our designated parking lots and either 1) walk to Ivywild School, 2) ride your bike to UpaDowna’s secure Bike Valet at the fest, 3) take our free shuttle to the fest, or 4) take a pedicab! King Sized Pedicabs will be running to and from the Abra Auto Body parking lot both days.
Designated parking lots: Use of the parking lots below have been graciously donated by their owners for both days of the Fest:
- Abra Auto Body and Glass — 1130 S. Tejon Street
- The Colorado Springs Independent — 235 S. Nevada Avenue
In addition, there are public parking garages and other parking opportunities available. Feel free to find your own parking and walk to one of our shuttle stops, referenced below.
There will be a free shuttle running both days with stops at Colorado College’s Worner Center, The Colorado Springs Independent at 235 S. Nevada Avenue, and Abra Auto Body at 1130 S. Tejon Street. If one of these lots fills up and you find parking nearby, feel free to walk to the shuttle stop nearest you and catch a ride from there. Guests of Hotel Elegante can use the hotel shuttle to get to the fest.
